North Featherstone Junior And Infant School

Dream it. Believe it. Achieve it.

Welcome to Hazel Class Page!

This half term our topic is 'Flow'. We will be learning all about the water cycle and even go on a trip to Bolton Abbey to look at a river, think about the environment it is in and look at the wildlife that surrounds the river, as well as learn about the water cycle. The children will also be engaging in writing their own river poems and describing a river scene. Keep checking back here to find photographs of the children's work and their learning!

Plants Plants Plants!

The children have been learning about the life cycle of a plant, here the children have been remembering the basic life cycle from previous years and sorting them into the correct order.

Musical Madness!

This year, the children will be learning how to play the recorders, this week the children have got their recorders for the first time and learnt to play the note 'B'. It was quite tricky to learn to put out left hand at the top but all children did really well and we managed to play a tune using the new note we learnt.

Forest School Fun!

This half term the children are taking part in forest school every Tuesday! They are learning orienteering skills and map skills in this time. They have started out their sessions by creating a large scale version of battleships. They used the measuring tape to measure a 6m by 6m grid and they have used sticks to indicate each 1m section and then they joined them with string to create the grid. They had a great time playing and screaming KABOOM! when they were hit.
